Auditions scheduled

Auditions for Windmore Community Theater's production of Blithe Spirit will be held Friday, Aug. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Culpeper County Middle School. Blithe Spirit is a comedy in three acts by Noel Coward; A Samuel French production to be directed by Mark Firnhaber. For more information call 547-2555.

Grass/Quail workshop slated

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will sponsor a workshop on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 8 a m. to 4 p.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Shenandoah County. Topics will include Quail ecology and recent research findings, timber management for early succession species and native warm season grass establishment and management.

Participants will be able to take part in a hands-on quail management exercise. The workshop will include an afternoon field trip of examples of good quail habitat management near the primary location. An added attraction is a bird dog demonstration. RoughRide sets date

Join a group of enthusiastic cyclists in the heart of Rappahannock County, Virginia for the fourth annual RoughRide on Saturday, Sept. 23. which will feature 12, 35 or 60-mile paved tours and 20 or 30-mile paved and unpaved courses for the rough and rugged.
