L.V. Merrill has announced that among the distinguished guests expected to be present * for the inauguration of the newly elected towr * council and mayor of Washington on Sept. 1 will be Senator A. Willis Robertson, Congressman Burr P. Harrison and Congressman Howard W. Smith, who have * stated their desire to be present. The inaugural committee is L.V. Merrill, chairman; Mrs. W.A. Miller and George H. Davis. The chairmen of the various committees appointed last week to make the necessary arrangements for putting on a flower show to be sponsored by the Rappahannock Garden Club in September met Tuesday afternoon at the home of the general chairman of the show Mrs. L.J. Turner. The chairmen of the various committees appointed to serve were Mrs. L.J. Kilby, Mrs. George H. Davis Jr., Mrs. Charles Estes, Mrs. J.G. Revercomb, Mrs. S.E. Hening, Mrs. J.M. Settle, Mrs. W.G. Pendleton, Mrs. George Taylor, Mrs. C.E. Johnson Jr., Mrs. Harry Gallihugh and Mrs. Joe Yowell.
