To summarize, the fourth and fifth grade instructional program this year will reflect a scheduling plan that provides each student with both large group and small group instruction in both language arts and math.

The small group instruction will address specific needs of students who are grouped in performance based sessions.

This means that for part of each day a child would be working in a small group with other children who are functioning at a similar instructional level in language arts and math. Large group instruction would still be the pattern for part of the day in language arts, math, science and social studies.
