This camp is for band students of all ages presently enrolled in the program, as well as rising fifth graders who are interested in finding out what band is all about before the school year starts.
Rising fifth graders (no instruments required) will be able to try out all the instruments, learn some basic marching, and have fun meeting the band members to find out what band has to offer them.
Students in grades six through 12 will go through the marching basics including the marching music.
The camp will be conducted by Lynne Fournier, Band Director and the Band Booster organization. It will also be staffed by many of the 20 students who attended the professional band camps this summer. The students who attended the camps at James Madison University and Ferrum College were aided by scholarships from the Band Booster organization and a grant from Headwaters.
