Mr. Morris' letter to Mr. McCarthy was copied to the FCC, and he wrote that the copy would serve as advise to the FCC "of the need for Sprint PCS to prepare an environmental assessment to comply with NEPA regulations . . ." He requested that Rappahannock County postpone issuance of any permits until Sprint PCS furnishes you with completed environmental assessments and signed findings of no significant impact.
Mr. McCarthy reported that he was informed that the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau of the FCC responded to Mr. Morris letter by instructing Sprint PCS, on Oct. 17, to meet with Shenandoah National Park management within 45 days to discuss the need for an environmental assessment.
