Col. i Ret.) and Mrs. Dieter C. Knuepfer celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 22.

The event was celebrated with an afternoon reception hosted by their daughter, Karen E. Knuepfer, and held at the F" 1 int Hill Public House. Fifty-five guests attended the festivities.

The Knuepfers met in Monterey, Calif, in Oct. 1949 and were married in Vienna, Austria a year later. Within a few months, they moved to Berlin, Germany, beginning a series of moves around the world including Thailand, Germany and the United Sates.

Col. Knuepfer served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 1942-1974, retiring in Stuttgart, Germany. He served in Vietnam, 19671968. During his military career, he also completed his BS and MBA degrees at the University of' Maryland and George Washington University.
