Mrs. Knuepfer served as a Communications Officer in the U.S. Navy (Waves). She completed her MS Library Science at University of Ca/Berkley in 1949. Her varied careers included teaching high school languages, English and History in Clare, Mich., serving as Librarian for Hampton Roads Academy in Newport News, costumed docent for Colonial Williamsburg.
Currently she is Librarian/Director of the Rappahannock Historical Society in Washington. Cathryn Knuepfer has held many volunteer posts also, including serving in the American Red Cross, and holding active membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Rappahannock Garden Club and Trinity Episcopal Church.
The Knuepfers have enjoyed living in Rappahannock County since 1978. Their daughter currently resides in York County, Pa.
