Helen Magnolia Anderson Swain, 84, of Amissville died Sunday, Oct. 15 at the Evergreen Health and Rehab Center in Winchester.
She was born Jan. 22, 1916 in Marshall, daughter of the late Leon and Dora Cockrell Anderson. She was married to the late Samuel L. Jackson Swain.
Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Swain of Virginia and Roger Swain of Chester Gap; a brother, Thomas Anderson of Painesville, Ohio; two granddaughters;. her guardian Richard Anderson and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 21 in Marshall Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Andrews officiating.
Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.

Samuel Lollar Ficklin, a machinist, who retired in 1979 from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing died of cancer Aug. 27 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He lived in Washington.
