The peaking of the autumn colors brought out hundreds of people last Saturday. There wlere even more on Sunday.
You should have seen the long lines of traffic waiting to get on and off the Skyline Drive. >' Four of us, Dorothy McWaters of Rixeyville, Wayne Baldwin of Madison County, my husband Daniel and I were part of that crowd. Although, we enjoyed the colors, walking on a leaf carpeted trail, while a breeze would send whirling more leaves. What a perfect day to be in the woods. - We had another purpose on otir minds. We went to the old William Bowen or John Henry Waters Cemetery. Here many of our Bowen ancestors, my great-grandfather and greatgreat-grandparents, and other relatives are buried. We had been there six years ago and had cleaned the cemetery.
