The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center, together with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, announces the appointment of Karen K. Bowling as the 4-H Center’s director of development. Ms. Bowling will be responsible for major gifts; the annual fund and corporation foundation, local government, individual and in-kind fund raising. Aside from fund raising, Ms. Bowling is responsible for coordinating the public affairs and marketing programs of the Northern Virginia 4-H Center. The 4-H Center successfully completed the “Complete the Dream” $3.6 million campaign during 1991.
St. Peter’s Catholic Church dedicates its new building on Sunday, March 22. The bishop of Arlington, John R. Keating, will preside at the mass and the reception that follows. An open house will follow in the afternoon.
Elaine Jessica McCabe of Flint Hill earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the fall semester at Longwood College in Farmville. Only 97 other students received all A’s.
