Have you ever overheard a conversation between a boy and his beloved dog? Sounds pretty one-sided, doesn't it? Perhaps, but they communicate just the same. A look, a raised ear, a cocked head; the boy pays dose attention to his friend’s every unspoken inflection. They understand one another perfectly.

In Proverbs 4:1, the wise King Solomon said, “...pay attention | and gain understanding.” In our hurried world, do we really pay attention to others... to what they say, as wdl as to what they do not say? Truly, it is difficult to communicate personally in such an increasingly impersonal world.

Yet, when God speaks, we must pay dose attention, for our Creator speaks subtly... the rush of the wind through the trees, the gratitude in the eyes of a less fortunate soul, the sunrise that gives us a new chance for a better day tomorrow. God also speaks to us in His House. Visit God each week. You can feel His presence... but you must pay dose attention.
