Asking for a track is not asking for too much. These athletes work just as hard as other teams and deserve the same respect.
Furthermore they deserve to be able to stand on equal footing with their competitors. Track is athleticism in one of its oldest and purest forms. Building a new track would benefit the entire community and the school at large.
Furthermore, unlike football it is not predominately composed of either gender. Both male and female students would be able to participate and in turn potentially receive college scholarships and other benefits.
Track doesn’t require new balls, padding, nets of goals each year. All it requires is a place to perform.
A place that team members can be proud of and where they can push themselves beyond what is possible with current facilities. They deserve at least this much.
