ended their scrimmage season and look forward to their home opener on Monday, March 18 vs Page County High School.
The JV was idle this week, but will also be in action against Page on March i8.
Softball
The varsity traveled to Fauquier High School on Saturday, March 9 just to get rained out. The JV stayed home and tried to get a game in against the visiting Lady Hornets from RMA. The rainy weather precluded a full contest, but the teams played in the wet conditions for three innings.
Sophomore Brittany Thornhill had an impressive opening performance garnering all 9 putouts on strikeouts over the shortened scrimmage. The score was 2 to 0 when both sides agreed that “Ole Man Weather” would be the winner and the game was stopped. The varsity will make up their contest against Fauquier on Monday, March 11.
The big girls will also host the visiting “Thundering Herd” girls’ softball team from Carlisle, Pa. this weekend on Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16.
