On Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5 and 6, tour guides in colonial costumes will again lead residents and guests of the village on a tour highlighting the art, architecture and stories of historic Washington.
As part of the First Washington’s Colonial Christmas Celebration, the tours offer a glimpse back through time at historic places and memorable moments that have contributed to the living history of the town.
Maybelle Gilkey was named the 1992 Outstanding member of the Rappahannock County Extension Homemakers Clubs at the annual achievement night program held Nov. 9.
She is a lifetime resident of Rappahannock County and currently resides at Chester Gap. She is president of the Extension Homemakers Council and has 20 years of service to this organization.
Navy Airman Recruit Tony W. Atkins, son of Mahlon and Alice Atkins of Sperryville recently completed the Aviation Hydraulics Maintenance Course.
The 1992 graduate of Rappahannock High School joined the Navy in April 1992.
