Supervisor Roger Welch commented that he thought that Sprint’s delays were caused by local environmental groups and that Sprint should thus be granted the extension. Supervisor Bob Anderson of the Stonewall-Hawthome District said that he saw no reason not to grant an extension like for any other building permit, and he moved to do so.

Jackson District Supervisor Ron Frazier said that he thought that Steve Miller spoke only for a minority of Amissville area residents, and added that he was “surprised at the lengths Mr. Miller will go to..."

Mr. Anderson’s motion to approve the one-year extension was carried on a 4-0 vote, with Mr. Welch abstaining.
