THE

GRIEVING

PROCESS

Grief is a normal and natural response to loss that enables us to liberate energy that is bound to the lost person so that we may reinvest that energy elsewhere. Until we grieve effectively, we are likely to find reinvesting to be difficult, as a part of us remains tied to the past. Fortunately, much of the process of healthy grieving seems to happen spontaneously. Thus, it may be helpful to relax our expectations of how we should grieve and relinquish some of our need to be in control. One thing to bear in mind, however, is that grieving is an active process. It is not necessarily true that all one needs to do is “just give it time.”

Grieving is at once universal and intimate. We all grieve differently, but we all suffer grief. At the MOSER FUNERAL HOME, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton, we understand this often strange process of numbness and shock, denial and anger, sadness and helplessness. We offer our compassionate support and care to all who come to us for services. Call us at 347-3431 to set up an appointment.

"No greater grief than to remember days of gladness when sorrow is at hand.”

- Friedrich Schiller
