By that time my fingers were extremely numb, my feet were ready to fall off, and my lips and mouth were parched.

I wanted to whip out some strawberry lip balm, right then and there, and apply it to my poor shriveled up lips.

I had sweat rolling down my face, burning my eyes (my contacts didn’t like that).

Yep, it burned my innocent green eyes.

I was running out of breath, I felt like a hopeless robot. I couldn’t quit, at least not when people were looking.

With every step I took my mind was thinking of how absurd this whole situation was.

In the end, nobody quit, the whole band pressed on, regardless of the fact if anyone was watching us or not. We stayed together as a band.

Everyone did his or her best and little Rappahannock, a single A band beat everyone in the single A division.

If no one is pleased with those results, then let me tell you that we even beat two double A schools.

Yes, we are that good. We did awesome. I don’t think we have ever participated in a parade as large as Woodstock before, but we were not intimidated.
