Performance
Orkis’ substantial career has included over ten years of touring with the Russian cellist, Mstislav Rostropovich. His extensive discography includes performances on Sony Classical with the Dutch cellist Anner Bylsma.
Recent appearances include recitals in the U.S. and Switzerland with cellist Han-Na Chang, trio performances in Europe with Ms. Mutter and cellist Lynn Harrell, and joint recitals in Southeast Asia with violinist, Julian Rachlin. He performs regularly with the Smithsonian Institution’s Castle Trio, and has recorded the cycle of Beethoven Trios using period instruments. (Mr. Orkis will return to the Theatre in the new year with the Castle Trio for a concert in the Smithsonian at Little Washington series, as well for the second in the Mozart sonatas series with LisaBeth Lambert.)
