Garden Club to meet
The Rappahannock County Garden Club November meeting will be held on Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall. The meetings are open to the public, but an RSVP to hostess Susan Jones (675-3152) would be appreciated.
The program this month, “Gardening from an Ecological Perspective," will be presented by Donna LaPre, an organic gardener who lives in Rappahannock and frequently writes for the Rappahannock News.
Reiki offered at Healing Arts
Reiki I and II Intensive with Kathy Edwards will be offered on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rappahannock Healing Arts Center.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The class is a combination of lecture, discussion and experience. Practice time includes giving and receiving a complete Reiki treatment using all the hand positions, practicing self treatment, scanning others, using the Second Degree symbols and sending Reiki to others at a distance. All attunements are given. Call 987-7204 extension 7 to register.
Children of Shenandoah to meet
The Children of Shenandoah will have their next public meeting on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library. Guest speaker will be Robert Johnson, former park ranger in Shenandoah National Park. Mr. Johnson will be presenting a history of his roots in the park area. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served.
Arthritis, acupuncture at Library
Sarah A. Steed, Licensed Acupuncturist of Washington will give a free informative talk on using acupuncture for arthritis and chronic joint pain at the Rappahannock Library on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. For additional information call 540-219-9494.
