Amissville. Maybe someone out there can inform me about all the great “historic” places we have in Amissville.

“Viewshed” must be a word invented by a Rappahannock resident, probably one of the newcomers. Someone must have come in, built a grand palace on a mountaintop in the county and said to himself or herself that I don’t want anything to ruin my “view” of the mountains or anything to “shed” my view.

This really is “NIMBYist” at it’s worst. There is no doubt that Rappahannock needs to have a cellphone system so that local residents and anyone driving through the county can access the phone system. The only opposition I had to Sprint coming in and installing cellphone towers in Rappahannock is that the towers wouldn’t be ugly monstrosities sitting on every mountaintop in the county. I trusted our supervisors and county Administrator when they approved the type, style of tower and the locations where Sprint will install them. I really hoped that by now they would be in operation.
