thank them in advance for their generosity. Thanks also to Mrs. Donna Kevis, who has tirelessly worked for many years to ensure that this dinner goes off without a hitch. This year, we are adding our thanks to the Marriott Ranch, our lunch partners and now our entree chefs.

• Excitement is building, as the date for the For the Love of Animals Art Show and Auction draws closer. Students whose work has been chosen for the Auction to be held at the Middleburg Tennis Club Friday evening, Dec. 13, are nervous, yet proud. Working within the theme of animals, the students have created beautiful, yet touching pieces of art.

Pieces of art from local artists will also be on hand, and families and friends of Wakefield who attend will have a rare opportunity to do something positive to benefit the school, as well possibly own a work of art that they love. Just to be there will be fun, as local resident/French teacher, Rachel Bechtold, will be the auctioneer. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please call the school and leave a message for Mrs. Kathy Nilan or Mrs. Karen Dick. Hope to see you there!

• Mr. John McMahon, Latin and Greek teacher, will be chaperoning a group of students to Richmond soon for the Virginia Junior Classical League convention. Twins Nicole and Michelle Fegeas have done extremely well at past conventions; we wish them well!

• International Day is Friday, Nov. 22, and the public is welcome to attend. The displays will be up and ready for viewing by 10 a.m., and the soccer game will begin at 1:30 p.m. Students will be involved in a variety of games and crafts, and the more adventurous will sample the exotic foods that our International students prepare or bring in.

• Have a wonderful week and remember: Great love and great achievements involve great risk.
