Oh, what a beautiful morning! While the rain is making all of us feel a little soggy, at least it’s making the world around Rappahannock County feel more like normal. It’s somewhat odd to see the grass so green this late in November, but the air finally has moisture in it, and that feels great! I cannot help feeling slightly guilty, though, when I read or see the news reports about the flooding or tornado damage in other states. We have suffered with the drought for several summers ourselves, but at least we have our homes and our health. Which leads me to...
• The various flu bugs have been making their wavthrough WCDS the last two weeks, and I, like many others, am impatiently awaiting the Thanksgiving break. I have great hopes that a couple of days away from everyone else will clear up the sickness in my own house and do the same for others. The dampness from the rain isn’t ideal, but I so love curling up in my big green chair in my jammies with a cup of hot tea and a book. Actually, I'm ready for a waist-high snowday!
• Basketball season started with a thunderclap last Friday night with a home game against Royal Christian Academy from Front Royal. After several weeks of practice, both varsity teams were rarin’ to go.
