The varsity girls’ basketball team saw their season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the Bull Run District Tournament as the Lady Rams of Strasburg romped over the Lady Panthers 68-17.

Strasburg took control of the came from the outset and pushed their lead out to 22-4 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw things get no better for the Panthers as Strasburg took a 48-8 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Panthers were paced by Brittany Thornhill and Rachel Sharp with six points each.

The fall athletes set several examples that they pass on to their winter and spring counterparts. They worked hard, they gave everything they had each time out and as long as the contest was being played they continued to compete. Everyone wishes there had been more wins but each team enjoyed a great deal of progress that will be vital to the winter, spring and next fall.

They have laid building blocks that will be essential in the progress of the athletic program.
