After cutting limbs, mulching, and planting fresh flowers, the courtyard was so inviting that new families wandered out there for quiet reflection during the hustle and bustle of the busy day. Always an oasis of sorts, the courtyard had become neglected. We are so grateful to Mr. Hazel; it was much hard work and long hours spent. Thank you!
• Mrs. Evelyn Oyster is being her usual musical self, with the Lower School humming their way towards the Christmas program. Mrs. Oyster teaches piano lessons, as well as Chorus, and she’s one busy woman! The Christmas program promises to be a little different this year, and the children are being somewhat mysterious. As long as they’re smiling and singing, we’re happy!
• Sarah’s Supper is planned for the same evening as the Christmas program, which is Dec. 6. Started long ago by a mom, Sarah’s Supper is a tradition that all of the families look forward to. It has become one of the only nights throughout the whole year when all of the families of Wakefield come together for a meal and fellowship. Everyone’s schedules are so busy, and the month of December is always crammed with activities.
Families at Wakefield make a point to make it to this dinner, because it gives them an opportunity to touch base with other parents and the staff at WCDS. In past years, various local restaurants have provided parts of the dinner, and this year is no exception. We are hungrily awaiting the offerings from the Public House and the Inn. We want to
