‘In America;’
a film to be
admired

“In America” is a warmhearted film from Irish director Jim Sheridan.
The story was written by him and his two daughters and follows the lives of an Irish family who illegally enter the United States to start a life in New York City in the 1980s.
The film has several Academy Award nominations including Samantha Morton for Best Actress and Djimon Hounsou for Best Supporting Actor.
The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community is showing the film at The Theatre on Gay Street in Washington on Friday. Feb. 20 at 8 p.m.
