Here in Rappahannock there are many needs that go unseen. One small area is the lack of playing fields and recreational sports programs.
I’ve been involved in the soccer league for eight years now. We share fields with the school where space is already tight. We try to maintenance the fields each year but our efforts can’t begin to cover the costs of maintaining fields with proper drainage, topsoil, sod as well as mowing. The pool of volunteers shrinks every year as most couples are now working two and three jobs to make ends meet.
