Offered as interesting fare for their regular fans and gamblers, jump races have become very popular at a number of major tracks, including Saratoga in New York (which offers two to four hurdle races each week throughout its August meet,) and Colonial Downs here in Virginia (which offers hurdling each Saturday through its June-July “turf festival” meet in New Kent County).
Other tracks offering occasional jump races include Philadelphia Park, Belmont Park in New York, Maryland’s Laurel Park, even Tampa Bay Downs in Florida cards jumpers.
