Malcolm Barr remembers the rush of adrenaline, the chaise of excitement he felt as a boy in England, standing railside at local point-to-point races and watching the horses leap past as they cleared high hedges and stiff hurdles. He heard as much as felt the thundering hooves; he smelled the horse sweat and leather, he tasted the rolls of dust raised by the racing pack.
