That makes it all the more galling as the evidence is in that volunteers and churches can’t make up for the lack of responsible government.
Whether it be schools, health care, fire and rescue services, recreation programs, affordable housing, social services, environmental protections, government has to be involved. It’s not enough to say “No” all the time. There has to be a willingness to invest in the future whether that be playing fields for the kids or additions to the schools or gym space adequate for the number of teams and sports.
