The family is unsure when they will return for more therapy, but hopes that it will be soon enough to continue Sidney’s progress. In the meantime, Shelly Dodson brought back some arm splints and made sandbags to use as weights so that she, her husband and Sidney can work together at home and mimic the exercises she learned in Poland.
“I feel so lucky to be her mom,” Shelly Dodson said. “She’s taught me so much about myself and about life.”
Two weeks after she gOt\ home, Sidney started school at Rappahannock County elementary. She even gets to ride the bus. The county was able to get a lift on a regular school bus to take Sidney to and from school.
