deserve better
leadership’
Americans are tough, industrious,
inventive, friendly, understanding, forgiving, loyal, and trusting. These are qualities that have served us well, especially during World War II.
By December 1944 the United States with its allies was within six months of winning the war in Europe and nine months from victory in the Pacific. Tbday the course of the Iraqi war is far from over and its outcome (a definitive victory, a democratic country, and a safer USA) is at best uncertain and probably not attainable. Could this result from an administration that prioritizes political advantage over effectively battling our enemies?
I do not believe the decision to go to war was based on flawed intelligence, but rather part of a political agenda. I do not trust the war information that is coming from our government, especially when the President’s statements seem more and more like the Iraqi Information Minister during this war telling reporters that the Iraq Republican Guard was pushing the enemy into the sea as American tanks were rolling into Baghdad.
Further, Afghanistan and Iraq are so dangerous that accurate independent reports from the media are rare and limited in scope. Do we really know how well our Commander in Chief is doing in leading us in this endeavor? He keeps reminding us he is doing well, that things are going well. His words spill out as if he is playing Scrabble— short and designed to score political points rather than tell the American people the truth.
