states have to raise money for body armor so their sons and daughters could go into combat properly equipped? It is a sad day when civic groups in Mobile, Ala., have to raise money to buy special steel plating for their local National Guard unit’s Humvees after they were deployed to the war zone.
Bush and Cheney love to make speeches praising the brave men and women who are fighting in Iraq, yet they conspicuously keep their distance from the more than 7,000 wounded soldiers of this conflict, many of whom have lost multiple limbs or have been seriously burned and face a lifetime of struggle in recovery and rehabilitation.
I do not believe George W. Bush is a bad man, just the wrong man to lead this country. He told us there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq when there were none. He said the mission was accomplished, but the casualties keep coming. When it is pointed out how different his words are from reality, he implies that we should just have faith and take him at his word.
No thanks, Mr. Bush, I’ll put my faith in Jesus, vote for John Kerry and remain skeptical of politicians who ask for nothing more than unquestioning silence from the American people.
