Festival attendees will also have the opportunity to see Hallberg’s unique dulcimer collection. More than 15 of these small, violin-shaped instruments, hang from the tasting room walls. Most of them are from the 1970s, but Hallberg boasts a few from the 1940s.
“I don’t know of any other dulcimer museum out there,” chuckled Hallberg, “so it only seemed fitting to dedicate mine as such. Besides, so many people know me as the mead man, maybe now they’ll call me the dulcimer man too.”
Hallberg himself plays the dulcimer, so festival-goers may be treated to a unique performance.
