The dues for joining the national organization are $160 a year. Dues for the local chapter are $60 until Oct. 22, $75 after that.

The organizers of the local chapter said SHRM provides many valuable tools and activities.

Those interested in joining the local chapter of SHRM should call Caren Taylor Pressley at (540) 347-4304 or e-mail her at caren@taylorpressley.com.
