The Piedmont Environmental Council is providing an educational seminar on the tax benefits of conservation easements for informational purposes on Friday, Nov. 5 at Lord Fairfax Community College (The Bam) in Warrenton.
The seminar is for accountants, financial advisers, lawyers, easement donors interested in selling credits and individuals and entities interested in purchasing credits.

Learn how to buy and sell the Virginia income tax credit available to landowners donating conservation easements.
Speakers will present information on transactions that have closed to date, the importance of a good appraisal and the challenges and opportunities for structuring transactions. Hear the most up-to-date information on the credit from the Virginia Department of Taxation.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by a program from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

There is a $25 registration fee. The seminar provides 3.0 Accountant Continuing Education credits. Registration fee is $35 for those seeking Continuing Education Credits. Refreshments will be served.
