John Hallberg and his unique Smokehouse Winery in Sperryville will host the fifth annual Harvest Festival OctT 9-10 from noon until 6 p.m.
Nestled in the Blue Ridge foothills, the winery also includes a bed and breakfast option in a mid-19th century cabin that was once the original smokehouse on the property.
The winery’s tasting room—where the festival will be held— is reminiscent of an old log cabin. Its comfortable atmosphere and Hallberg’s laid-back style make visitors feel immediately at home.
“We are a meadery,” he offered. “We produce the oldest fermented beverage known to man.”
