In the aftermath of the war, none of these things proved to be true and I was most disappointed with the administration’s “so what, we had bad intelligence and it doesn’t matter anyway” attitude. It is now obvious that both Bush and Cheney and their advisors had a hidden agenda when they ordered the invasion of Iraq. They believed they could ignore 2,000 years of history and culture and force Western style democracy upon the Arab world. This idea is insane and unworkable.
