the joists, and lined with books. Both rooms show the steep pitch of the tin roof. An old English chest and an old American cedar chest are in the large bedroom, where photographs line the walls. The small bedroom, just right for visiting grandchildren, serves as a sewing center, and the window looks out to the hay bam and the hills beyond.
The dining room downstairs is part of an addition built in 1963. It is a large, light-filled room, with views westward to the fields. Paintings by Rappahannock artists Robin Purnell, Tanya Richey, Geneva Welch, and Martin Woodard, fill the wall space. One wall features more etchings by Luigi Casimir, an artist who worked between the wars, mostly in Europe. There is also a large brass rubbing, done by Helen Williams in 1965 in England.
