While driving across the mountain on Route 211, from Luray toward Sperryville just after dusk Sunday evening, Joe King of Flint Hill first saw a fire blazing on the Luray side of the mountain, proceeded west and came upon a truck that was engulfed in flames.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” King said, “first a fire on one side of the mountain and then another on the other side.”
