Announcement #CMD013 The Fauquier County Department ot Community Development is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Building Plans Reviewer. This position will perform plan review of buildings and related systems to ensure compliance with the design requirements of applicable building codes.
Qualified applicants must possess thorough knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices as applied to building design/construction and must possess the knowledge, skill and ability to review building plans and specifications for residential, commercial, industrial and public construction projects for compliance with the State Building Code. Applicants must also have the ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, architects, associates, and the general public. A valid Virginia driver's license is required. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and extensive experience in general building construction will be considered. Special Requirements: Virginia Certification as a building plans examiner in all disciplines or ability to become certified within 3 years of appointment. Starting salary is $36,721 to $45,902 with excellent fringe benefits.
