“I’m not interested in politics from a career point of view,” Blubaugh said, “I’ve had my career. I am just doing this because it needs to be done.”
While Blubaugh is aware that he will be sacrificing time with his wife, Liz and their business and family, he also feels, “It is important in a democracy to sacrifice for the common good of all.”
The Democratic Caucus will be held on May 14 with the Democratic Committee coming together to elect a candidate on June 15.
At this time, one other Democrat has publicly expressed a desire to run for the seat, Rodney Sheppard of Shenandoah County.
