Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community is pleased to announce ‘Artists of Rappahannock County Studio and Gallery Tour’ scheduled Nov. 5-6. ‘Hamlet’
Hamlet by William Shakespeare will be presented by the Christendom College Players at The Theatre at Washington located at 291 Gay Street in Washington. Performances are Friday, April 22, Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24 at 8 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $8 adults, $5 students, $3 children 12 and under. It has all the elements of a great revenge play: the charismatic protagonist; the sinister king; beautiful ladies caught up in the drama; and behind it all, an angry ghost clamoring for revenge.
A tribute
A tribute to The Morel (‘merkle’) Mushroom on April 23 and 24 by ushers of the 5th annual Morchella Mania. Th's culinary delight which appears for just a few precious weeks in April rivals its close relative the truffle in shear decadent flavor. We celebrate by providing samples of said delectable, some insight into the rich lore associated as well as our usual digs. Call the Smokehouse Winery at 987-3194 for information.
Old Rag Mountain hikes
The Ragged Mountain Resource Center will be offering several upcoming hikes, hike-runs, and moonlight hikes, including a moonlight hike of Old Rag Mountain on Saturday, April 23. Interested participants should meet at the upper parking lot for Old Rag on the Nethers side between 6:30-7 p.m. for a hike up the “Ridge Trail”. Return route will be determined by group decision, either the fire road or back down the Ridge Trail. Rain date will be Sunday the 24. Layered clothing, water and a snack are recommended, and a backup flashlight or headlamp. This will be the last moonlight hike opportunity of the spring season, since the leaves and snakes will be out after that.
