The central mission of the
Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance is preservation of the Rappahannock County landscape. We seek your help.
Specifically, we are hoping to compile (for private use only) a list of individuals and corporations in a position to purchase Virginia land preservation tax credits. A number of RCCA members, because they have donated conservation easements protecting their properties, have qualified for more tax credits they can use — meaning they have tax credits for sale, usually at a discount, to buyers who can use the credits to pay their own Virginia income taxes.
RCCA is concerned about recent land use decisions made by governments and courts impacting counties in our region. We fear that these decisions will bring new pressures for change to Rappahannock’s world-class landscape, a county which has specifically defined itself as a “scenic county”in its Comprehensive Plan.
