Ten Rappahannock County Retired Teachers Association members made a return trip to Rappahannock County High School on April 11 for a delightful dinner hosted by the Culinary Arts Classes.
The community was saddened to hear that Min Jumak passed away on Monday, April 11, our prayers are with the family.
The 15th Annual Sky Awareness Week (SAW) is from April 24-30. This year’s theme is “THE SKY — Where Meteorology Meets the Heavens and the Earth!”
Since 1991, more than 40 states have supported this growing celebration.
SAW will provide opportunities for teachers, students, parents, home schoolers, senior care centers, nature center staff, meteorologists and others to look toward the sky. In doing so, we can learn how to read the sky, first by learning cloud types and their weather, and then by forecasting from them, understanding the sky processes, sky color, and learning how rainbows are formed. Let’s appreciate the sky’s natural beauty.
Late spring is the time when we experience the most dramatic and changeable skies. In addition to making our own weather forecasts, just as farmers and explorers used to do, let’s notice that the sky is not the same color blue every day.
