The Trinity Episcopal Church Garden Guild of Washington will host the Guild’s Fourth Annual “Great Spring Garden Party” at Jessamine Hill Farm on Saturday, May 14, from 57 p.m.
The work of the Trinity Garden Guild on behalf of the Tbwn center has been quite remarkable over the years, and the women of the guild hope to continue their efforts to enhance the beauty of the Tbwn of Washington’s historic center.
Their accomplishments in a few short years of hard work and good planning is readily visible as blooming trees and plants have replaced once barren patches in the gardens of the historic church and the adjacent parking lot that serves both the church and the Inn at Little Washington.
During the last six years, the Trinity Garden Guild has made significant improvements.
In 1999, the unimproved gardens were taken to task by guild members in an effort to make the Tbwn of Washington a more beautiful place to live and visit.
With each passing year, additional planning and plantings have yielded a consistently prettier place.
Gala to be held
at Jessamine Hill
Considered one of the finest historic properties in Rappahannock County, Jessamine Hill in Tiger Valley was constructed by a master builder in the mid-1800s in a Virginia Jeffersonian style.
John Anderson, a native of Rappahannock County, has lovingly restored the large manor house to its former elegance. Thanks to Anderson, guests attending this benefit will have a unique opportunity to stroll through the grounds and have a festive party at one of the truly grand homes in the Piedmont.
