Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Bur Salmon (retired), 64, of Flint Hill, Virginia, died Thursday, May 5, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was bom in Washington, D.C. to the late Brigadier General Ronald D. Salmon and Marion Bur Salmon.
Lt. Col. Salmon was a retired veteran with over 25 years of service in the United States Marine Corps. He served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Silver Star Medal and thirtyfive Strike/Flight Air Medals. He flew the A-4 and A-6 attack aircraft. He was the Commanding Officer of the Marine eelcronic Warfare Squadron, VMAQ-2. He received the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V”, the Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces
