Greg is editor and publisher of The Rushford Report, a monthly publication on the politics of international trade and finance.
In fact, it was an article that Rushford wrote and published in May, 2004 titled “Change in the Carolinas” that made him aware of the Deltec company.
With encouragement from a friend, the Rushford’s visited Rappahannock County in their search for a place to build their dream home.
“I came here and thought my friends would think I was foolish,” Lucy said, in an accent that distinctly lets a listener know of her Philippina roots, “There was nothing here but trees, and then I began to see the beauty.”
That beauty reflected on Lucy’s face as her eyes sparkled, watching her new home take shape.
For Greg, he looks forward to sitting in his study, a wing extending off the circular structure, with a large window facing west.
“Americans always looked west,” he said, “Even Thomas Jefferson looked west when he sent Lewis and Clark off to explore. I want to look west and see the view of the mountains.”
The Rushfords plan to move into their home in October, looking forward to cool nights on the deck that will encircle the house, enjoying the Rappahannock sunset.
