Hearthstone School’s high school students are visiting Costa Rica this week. One of the highlights of their trip will be to a local orphanage where the students will make a peace quilt with the resident children. This will be the first time children from two countries have come together to make a peace quilt through the “Emissary of Peace Program”, initiated by the Masters Group, an educational and scientific non-profit organization in Alexandria, Va. that works toward expressing peace through the creation of the fine arts. As a community service project, the students will participate with the orphans in their “Children’s Cloth of Many Colors” outreach program.
