Lord Fairfax Community College’s Division of Workforce Services and Continuing Education, in conjunction with area sponsors, will hold a professional development event, “Perseverance in Leadership,” featuring baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr. and author Willie Jolley. The event will take place on Friday, June 3, 2005, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the William H. McCoy Special Events Center located inside the Alson H. Smith, Jr. Technology Center on LFCC’s Middletown Campus, 173 Skirmisher Lane in Middletown.
The event will begin with a continental breakfast and a two-hour presentation by Jolley, an award-winning keynote speaker and bestselling author who specializes in transforming people and performance. He is the author of two international best selling books, including “A Setback is a Setup for a Comeback.” He has also been named one of the five outstanding speakers by Toastmasters International.
After lunch, the afternoon will continue with Ripken, baseball’s all-time Iron Man.
