‘A Night at the Races’ Come out and support the Rappahannock County School Sports Association on Saturday, March 18 starting at 6 p.m. with this unique fundraiser. Held at the CCLC Old School House in Washington there will be televised horse races shown and narrated with all the suspense and action that you experience at the track. Ticket price of $25 includes dinner and drinks (beer, wine and soda). Cash prizes at the end of each race and great door-prizes from local merchants and restaurants. This is the only local fundraiser that the parents sponsor to supplement what the school budget does not afford. For example, the school budget for uniforms for all sports combined was $1000 in. 2005. Recently, the RCSSA helped work , out an agreement for the Varsity Soccer program to receive new uniforms for the first time in over 6 years for $2,100. So, you see how the schools annual uniform budget for all sports does not even cover one sport. So please, if you are in the County this weekend (the 18th) continue your St. Patrick’s Day festivities at our Night at the Races!! If you are unable to attend and would like to support our kids, make a donation and it can be earmarked for any sport of your choosing. RCSSA is a 501c3 organization.
